Observation: Douglas Island

Toured up towards Troy/Show Boat using the steeper winter route. Ended up skiing back down through the meadows and trees searching for low angle powder. Since I didn’t have a lot of time I decided to do a series of hasty pits along the steeper sections of the skin track to get a feel how the new snow was bonding to the rain crust. I noticed the new snow did not bond well on NW aspects and got varied results on SW aspects.
