Coastal Alaska Avalanche Center is a grassroots nonprofit organization focused on promoting backcountry avalanche safety in the mountains surrounding Juneau, Alaska. We host a website for sharing snowpack observations, provide scholarships for avalanche education, and promote avalanche safety through various forms of media. In CAAC’s short four year history, the all-volunteer board has made great progress.
Is the CAAC a non-profit organization?
CAAC was founded in 2020 by a few local avalanche enthusiasts by creating a 501C3 nonprofit organization.
