Warm west facing snow. Big wet sluff and rollerballs on slow boat entrance.

Sun(!). Cold east/NE wind.

Snow surface

In north or ne facing areas snow was cold, dry and pool table smooth on a rigid crust. West facing, this crust became semi breakable and collapsible in the late afternoon.

Snowpack

Dug a handpit w pole. 3-5” crust on unconsolidated wet snow. This crust was what slid in sluff on the softer wet snow.
