Observation: Douglas Island

Skied both sides of the showboat ridge from 10-2 on 12/29. We skied steep lee, windward, and cross loaded terrain. During the day it was snowing large flakes with moderate to strong SE winds at ridge tops. Our ski cuts in the steepest cross loaded terrain produced small loose dry, and very small storm slab avalanches. We were very cautious of terrain traps.
