Observation: Douglas Island

Skied Jumbo couloir Monday afternoon: With exception of entrance (which was quite wind hammered) couloir snow was mildly but not severely wind affected, chalky quality and stable, no signs of instability. Made me suspect that wind likely prevented/eliminated any potential surface hoar formation that otherwise would’ve occurred from clear skies Sunday night.

Very firm/icy snow up to about 1500 feet elevation.
