Route & General Observations

Went up McGinnis winter route in shoes today. The snowline was at approximately tree line. Travel conditions were good overall, rarely sunk in past ankle deep and didn’t need microspikes except for at the very top. Soft snow going up to the ridge, would be decent skiing, might crust overnight though. From the ridge up to the summit we found windswept, shallow, icier snow. The East (summer) side of the summit had right-side-up fun to ski feeling powder. It was nice to get above the fog, if you’ve got Monday or Tuesday off the boot pack is in.
