Route & General Observations

I built a practice snow pit on the north aspect of the ridge approaching “High East.” Snow pack was covered by a ~1 centimetre of rime crust. Top layer about 10 cm below the surface had a Q2 fracture after 15 taps. Otherwise all other layers appeared bomb proof.

Take my observations with a grain of salt. This is only the second pit I have created. I wanted to practice my evaluation skills, and develop the habit of sharing my results with the rest of the local back country community.
