Route & General Observations

Traveled up the west side of Eaglecrest and the West Bowl/Heavenly ‘sign line.’ Light to moderate winds from the East and South throughout the day. Snowing lightly at noon and tapering off to no precip by 3pm. A couple of inches of new snow has fallen over last week’s. Dug at the ‘sign line’ and don’t have any major layers of concern at this time. As the still moist snow freezes, we may see more faceting of the middle of the snowpack. Very weak temperature gradient in the 140cm snowpack today. Did an Extended Column Test, Compression Test, and a Deep Tap Test on the Nov 1st crust. Did not have any significant results.
