Route & General Observations

Took the standard skin track mostly up the summer road. Snow line at 2:30pm was the base of ptarmigan. Most notable was the low impact of this low pressure system on the snowpack. Overall a net gain in depth up to ~6″ of gushy sticky packable wet grains in wind sheltered areas down low- not your friendly snowball snow. Up top this translated to a moist 1-2″ of in the wind scoured areas adjacent to the nest. Did not dig to see how the buried crusts were affected, but all signs point to a fair bit of moisture making its way into the snowpack.
