Heavy, wet snow. Softball to microwave size snow sliding onto the trail. Some slide caused by human interaction but bigger slides due to natural release.  [ Read More ]

There is a large amount of avi debris especially on lookers right. At 11:30 the upper 2/3 of the gulch was fun corn snow. The last 1/3 was mushy but still super fun. The very bottom is avi debris but we stayed lookers right and came out the mining ruins trail. We didn’t set off  [ Read More ]

Avalanche seen going down gold creek valley, lasted a few minutes.  [ Read More ]
While walking Basin road heard three successive “whoomps” of snow collapse/cornice fall between 11:20 and 11:30am, though could not see where the exact source – it appeared to be directly up from end of Basin road at top of snow slide gulch somewhere. Hiked up the summer trail for a springy xc ski on the last vestiges of snow on the dog camp road and past the powerline pass trail into the alders towards the north face of Hawthorne.
