Hiked up to Wedding Bowl from the Porcupine chair. We could start skinning once we popped out of the trees at the base of Wedding Bowl. We skied various aspects on Ben Stewart and found 2″-4″ of low density snow sitting on a crust. The upper snow had very little cohesion and the winds were light, therefore we didn’t find any slabs. However, loose dry sluffs occurred on any slope steeper than 40° and slid easily on the crust. The skiing was surprisingly fun, especially on lower angled slopes where the crust was less noticeable.
